I was asked to create a brand identity and website for a company that specialises in the installation of domestic and commercial fencing.
The logo type was designed in the form of a handwritten signature to denote a level of quality and guarantee, both are imperative for a company offering such a diligent service.
The website was designed with skeuomorphic elements, aimed to encapsulate the natural surroundings of the companies environment.

The Ron Clark Academy is well known for their expanding level of success in America. This success is believed to have come from the academy’s innovative and transformative methods of education.
Ron Clark has appeared on many TV shows, including two appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and in 2006 a movie starring Matthew Perry was filmed portraying Ron Clark’s move to New York City, and the challenges he faced teaching one of the toughest classrooms in the country.

Flush Design was originally an idea to use as a studio name. I created a logo and a deck of cards to use as marketing material but before I sourced a company to print them I was dissuaded by the idea.
The illustration is a product of the work that went into the cards. Inspired by a live hand played in the World Series of Poker - 2008, Motoyuki Mabuchi with 4 Aces was knocked out of the main event by Justin Phillips holding a Royal Flush.

I was approached by two promising entrepreneurs looking to make a stamp in the SEO market. They required a logo and a fully responsive website to help them start up.
Working closely with them I suggested a logo that was hand drawn, something that was completely unique and instantly recognisable. Hand written motifs are also a sign of guarantee, responsibility and quality, all of which are essential traits for a start up company in a competitive market.
The heavy weight and the smooth edges of the typeface makes the company appear friendly and approachable, while retaining certain characteristics associated with the name.

Bubblegum

Aston University Nursery came to us after previously having their University website designed, and requested something fun, light-hearted, and colourful, making sure the website was catered for adults while delivering a childish look and feel.
The Nursery has four age ranges. Each age range is allocated a room and each room is assigned a colour. It was from these colours that produced the colour scheme for the website.
The illustration includes various toys associated with young children. The buildings that surround the nursery are out of focus in the background to keep the focal point of the illustration on the play area.

As an experiment I decided to make a series of illustrations where each part would form a shape that would influence the next part. I wanted the illustrations to be bright and colourful with elements of light, and after settling on a colour palette I got started.
I chose a hexagon for their simplicity and uniformity and the ability to experiment with 3D. The shapes in each piece were arranged geometrically to form new shapes that would appear in the following illustrations.

My love for drawing has inspired me since I was very young. Art lessons were where I was able to develop my drawing skills which enabled me to explore different styles and techniques. Two of my favourite artists: Jeff Buckley and Slash are the subject of these pieces.

Looking back through old notepads I noticed a large amount of sketches of rough letterforms. So after several years on the back burner, I finally decided to take some of these scribbles and polish them up into my very first font.
Although serif by nature, the extending finials of the ‘c’ and ‘e’, along with the left of the bilateral serifs demonstrate some informal and casual characteristics of the typeface.

The Wheel Wizard has been a long term client, their initial website was the first website I ever built, way back in 2005. At the time I had little experience in building websites so I taught myself everything (with a big help from google).
A few years later I was asked to redesign their website, so I put the past few years experience into use and designed them something that was cleaner and more modern, along with a wizard motif aimed to make the website look more welcoming and friendly.

Chaterhouse is one of the most prestigious schools I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
The school had an existing website in place, and before the boom of responsive web design, I was awarded the opportunity to create a mobile version for their pre-existing website.

Aysgarth came to us with a brief that was really exciting. The idea was that the website would tell a story as the user journeyed through it, and would make room for plenty of illustrations.
With this in mind I created an illustration for the home page with one half representing two boys having fun and socialising, and the other half representing the boys acquired preparation for life afterwards.

Walton Meats provide quality meats to top London based restaurants. They wanted a website that was clean and functional, and something that is representative of the high level of quality that is supplied to their customers.

Ardingly College is joined by four schools, each school has a different head teacher and each school is equally important. The proposed idea was to have each area of the college running side by side with the focal area occupying the logo, with the alumni and contact options available at the foot of the page.
The photographical areas would function as portal links. Once the user selects an area the page would animate to the lower position, propagating the content therein.

Rugby interactive prospectus gave me a chance to demonstrate my technical skills. Using JavaScript and jQuery I developed an application that allowed schools to create pages within a website and have the content delivered once a user requested a specific page.The application was designed to be fully responsive, and was optimised to work on mobile phones and other devices using minimal data.

As a personal project I decided to create a mark for myself. I knew that I wanted an animal motif so I did some research and I landed on the gazelle. I chose the gazelle because of their grace, their speed, and their agile qualities.

Queens College is joined by four schools. The lower schools would require a different colour scheme to the upper schools to distinguish the two.
The large banner on the home pages would serve to showcase some of the school’s fantastic photography, while providing an insight to the daily life at the school.

Getting the time to create anything with this guy in is always a pleasure. He’s been the subject of many projects of mine in the past, and has also been the influence of many musical interests.

Several years ago a friend and I had the idea of creating a cartoon where each subject would represent either a cliché or irony for many different occupations and social groups.
This was when I first started learning photoshop. I would draw the characters in pencil, then would scan them into my computer to be digitally redrawn.
Even though the project didn’t develop any further, it made me realise that illustration was where I should be focusing my time, and started to learn Adobe Illustrator immediately after.
